LETSHUOER faux-leather caseUser manual
I purchased the Letshuoer S12 after researching IEM's considered most capable of equalization and arrived at this IEM for its large planar driver and compelling specs such as its low THD and uniform moving mass technology.
Despite the promising design, I regret that I felt disappointed after testing the unit. I measured the IEM on a standard IEC 60318-4 711 coupler, channel balanced and equalized to a preference target that typically bodes well on other IEMs which I've tried, such as the AKG EO-IG955, using Spinfit W1 medium eartips. The S12 does have a wide bore nozzle, so I tried to test the stock tip and the Spinfit tips. While I did perceive a smooth sound, I was disappointed in the treble reproduction and overall tonality. There was a distinct metallic timbre on every musical track I tested and I couldn't agree with the perception of narrow soundstage. Compared to the AKG EO-IG955 which uses standard dynamic drivers, the S12 was far less resolving and unnatural sounding. If there is a proper way to experience the S12 that I haven't learned of, I sure wish to know as I was really hoping for a pleasant outcome.
I love the IEMs so far no issues sound amazing but wish there was more stage or spacing to the sound
Not bad pretty solid build, good soundstage and treble is good and not too piercing for me. As a first IEM for me, was a good experience
The S12s have a very comfortable fit around the ear, without feeling too heavy to bear or uncomfortable. The eartips they came with are standard, which is expected since you paid for the iems not the tips. Very high quality cable with a 2-pin connection that wont fall out. Audio quality is obviously the highlight, and it is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I have upgraded from the Crinacle Zero:2 from these and it felt like a life changing experience.
Ear tips make or break the S12. Dial in the right seal, and the tuning falls right into place: the treble pushes right up to the line without crossing it, while the bass delivers the physical punch you want from planar drivers. Feed them proper power from a dedicated amp/DAC, and they scale even further. The shells sit so comfortably I've accidentally fallen asleep wearing them more than once. An absolute powerhouse for the price.
